Day 1
Travel from Darwin is by Luxury Greyhound Coach – Departs the terminal at Mitchell Street Darwin at 7.15am.Pass through Adelaide River, Katherine, Victoria River and Hunter Creek before arriving in Kununurra at about 6.15pm. A relaxing evening and dinner while you meet your travelling companions.
Day 2
Today we depart Kununurra and head towards the Bungle Bungles. Along the way we may cross the river at Ivanhoe Crossing or stop at the Warmun Art Centre to view art by the local indigenous artists. The track into Purnululu National Park is Four Wheel Drive Only – a slow but scenic trip as we approach the wonder of the Bungle Bungles. We set up camp and then do a bit of exploring before drinks at sunset – another day you’ll never forget!
Day 3
Echidna Chasm, Frog Hole, Mini Palms Gorge, Picanniny Creek, Cathedral Gorge are our options today – we are in the midst of The Bungle Bungles and there is plenty to see and do. You might also take the optional helicopter flight and experience the magic from the air.
Day 4
We negotiate our way back over the 4WD track to the main highway and head to Fitzroy Crossing. This part of the East Kimberley is very scenic and opportunities to take photos present themselves at many places. An optional river cruise is available to Explore Geike Gorge just out of Fitzroy Crossing. Tonight we camp at ‘ The Lodge’ after a swim in the hotel pool.
Day 5
This leg of our journey takes us to beautiful tropical Broome where we sadly farewell our travelling friends. Along the way we see the Fitzroy River, huge Boab trees and keep our eyes open for the local wildlife. We end our journey on the shores of the Indian ocean and then get dropped off at your accommodation.
Day 6
Explore Broome at your leisure, there are many things to see and do in Broome. We suggest you visit the Broome Visitors Centra in town and find out about the many optional tours and activities that Broome has to offer. You may just want to 'kick back' on Cable Beach and enjoy the tropical heat and sunshine!! All activities in Broome are optional and are not included in the tour price. Breakfast is provided before your days activities.
Day 7
Another free day in Broome to enjoy the tropical lifestyle.
Day 8
Departing Broome, your coach heads up Highway One crossing the mighty Fitzroy River, for morning tea at Willare Bridge Roadhouse. Next stop is the famous Prison Boab tree at the start of the Gibb River Road near Derby. From here we continue on to explore Windjana Gorge. As the sun sets and touches the sides of the gorge an amazingly beautiful photo opportunity is yours for the click. Relax and enjoy your first night under canvas at the well equipped campsite.
Day 9
It's an early morning start to explore Tunnel Creek and experience a 750 metre cave walk through the ancient Devonian reef system. Your tour then follows 'The Gibb’, crossing rugged King Leopold Range and heading into ‘cattle-country’. After a mouth watering lunch, the walk into breathtaking Bell Gorge and a refreshing swim will amaze you! Enjoy a sumptuous meal at the Silent Grove campsite.
Day 10
The morning is a charming trip and a pleasant stroll into picturesque Galvan’s Gorge. After a delicious lunch your tour settles at Mt Barnett where you camp for the night next to the tranquil pools of the lower Manning. The afternoon is a walk into Manning Gorge where you can admire ancient Aboriginal Rock art and swim in clear pools near the falls.
Day 11
Your tour continues east along Gibb River Road arriving at Home Valley Station on the banks of the Pentecost River. Following recent refurbishment, Home Valley Station is a beautiful 'oasis' in the middle of the harsh outback environment. Put your head down and sleep soundly after another exceptional day in this beautiful part of the world.
Day 12
Continue the adventure as we make our way down Gibb River Road to famous El Questro Station. AFter crossing the Pentecost River and exploring the gorges, a relaxing evening of laughter and shared experiences rounds out another perfect day on your 'Adventure of a lifetime'!
Day 13
Today you have an extra special opportunity to take an optional scenic flight over the magnificent Mitchell Falls and natural gorges and walks around El Questro.
Day 14
We start the day at Zebedee Hot Springs where you can soak your traveller body in warm, crystal clear water beneath tropical palms. Today we explore the unspoilt territory of Emma Gorge for a swim in natural rock-pools or an exhilaratingly refreshing swim in the alluring waterfall. It's our last trip on the Gibb River Road before arriving in Kununurra for the evening.
Day 15
After an early breakfast you transfer from our 4 Wheel Drive Off-Road Vehicle to a Luxury Greyhound Coach and complete the rest of your journey into the Northern Territory arriving in Darwin at about 10.00pm local time.
