Typical Itinerary - (Subject to availability of accommodation)
Day 1
We depart Broome and head up Highway One, crossing the mighty Fitzroy River, before morning tea at Willare Bridge roadhouse. We then continue on to see the Prison Boab tree at the start of the Gibb River Road. We have lunch in Derby and head to Mowanjum Art Gallery before the afternoons travel takes us to Windjana Gorge where we explore the gorge before our first night under canvas.
Day 2
We head off early and explore Tunnel Creek as it winds its’ way under the Devonian reef. We then continue along ‘The Gibb’, crossing the King Leopold Range and heading into ‘cattle-country’. We take a walk into the spectacular Bell Gorge where we can have a refreshing swim before a delicious lunch. We depart and after a scenic drive we arrive at Charnley River Station.

Day 3
Today we leave Charnley river and head to Mornington Wilderness Camp where we explore this rugged wilderness area. Mornington has been set aside as a wildlife sanctuary by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy to preserve this area for future generations. Dinner at the Mornington Restaurant.
Day 4
A day of exploring and canoeing in Dimond Gorge and Sir John Gorge.
We end the day with a magnificent dinner at the restaurant at Mornington Wilderness Camp.
Day 5
We head back up to The Gibb River Road and visit Adcock Gorge and the beautiful Galvan’s Gorge – we will swim and have a leisurely lunch before heading to our campsite via Mt Barnett Roadhouse.
Day 6
We start the day with an early morning walk to Manning Gorge and take the opportunity to have a couple of refreshing swims in the fresh clear water.
We then continue along the Gibb River Road and head North onto the Kalumburu Road.
Along the way we will stop at The Gibb River and at Drysdale River Cattle Station to replenish our supplies.
We end the day at King Edward River campsite where we enjoy an evening relaxing under ‘The Kimberley’ sky.
Day 7
We take our time to explore the King Edward River area and visit some amazing Aboriginal art sites. View Gwion (Bradshaw) Paintings and other artwork from ancient times. Swim under the waterfalls and enjoy this pristine remote location. We then head back down to Drysdale Cattle Station where we end the day relaxing at the campsite with a cold drink and a hearty meal.
Day 8
An early flight over the spectacular Mitchell Falls and Northern Kimberley Coast will give you an appreciation of the remoteness and ruggedness of this ancient land. We then head back down on to The Gibb River Road and continue on to Home Valley Station. We check in to your Eco Safari Cabin and enjoy an evening around the campfire or entertainment by local musicians.
Day 9
We continue the adventure as we make our way back down to the Gibb River Road and into the famous El Questro Station. We cross the Pentecost River and explore the gorges.
The highlight of today’s journey is the Champagne Cruise on Chamberlain gorge at El Questro!
A relaxing evening under the stars completes another day of this ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’.
Day 10
After breakfast, we head into the Hot Zebedee Springs for a relaxing ‘spa’! - Relax and enjoy the scene that nature created. We then explore the El Questro Gorge or Emma Gorge, swim in the crystal clear water of the rock-pools or head to the waterfall for an exhilarating, refreshing swim. We finally leave the Gibb River Road and arrive in Kununurra in time to check-in at The Kimberley Grande for a delicious meal from the restaurant and a night in your luxurious room.
Day 11
It’s ‘back on the road’ as we head towards the Bungle Bungles. Along the way we may cross the river at Ivanhoe Crossing or stop at the Warmun Art Centre to view art by the local indigenous artists. The track into Purnululu National Park is Four Wheel Drive only – a slow but scenic trip as we approach the wonder of the Bungle Bungles.
We check-in to The Bungle Bungle Bushcamp and then head for Echidna Chasm to do a bit of exploring before drinks as the sun sets over The Bungle Bungles – another day you’ll never forget!
We have a dinner provided by the hosts of the bushcamp.
Day 12
Picanniny Creek and Cathedral Gorge are on our list today – we are in the midst of The Bungle Bungles and there is plenty to see and do. You take a helicopter flight and experience the magic from the air. We negotiate our way back over the 4WD track to the main highway and head to Old Halls Creek to explore this old gold-rush area.
Day 13
This part of the East Kimberley is very scenic and opportunities to take photos present themselves at many places. We continue on our way to Fitzroy Crossing where you have a delicious dinner at ‘The Lodge’ before retiring to your safari tent for the night.
Day 14
We start the day with a cruise to explore the Geike Gorge just out of Fitzroy Crossing. The last leg of our journey takes us to beautiful tropical Broome where we sadly farewell our travelling friends.
