Kalbarri
The Kalbarri National Park is one of the most exciting and spectacular in Western Australia. Explore the depths and heights of the river gorge and sea cliffs. Admire the floral beauty of the vast, rolling sand plains. Short walks provide moderately easy access to look-outs along the river gorge at The Loop, Z-Bend, Hawks Head and Ross Graham gorges.
Water sports on the lower reaches of the Murchison River are many and varied. Dolphins, whale sharks and whales frequent the coastal fringe and fishing is excellent throughout the year.
Kalbarri is blessed with a unique marine environment – clean safe beaches side by side with fantastic surfing breaks, towering sandstone cliffs, bordering coastal reef fringes and, thanks to a warm off-shore current, both tropical and sub-tropical species of marine life in abundance.
The Australian Parrot Breeding Centre, Rainbow Jungle, is the number one attraction in the Kalbarri area. You will find the largest Parrot walk-in free-flight in Australia and an active breeding program of endangered species.
The seasonal migrations of Humpback Whales, bring them close to the Kalbarri shoreline in Winter & Spring.
