Broome to Bungles and Darwin 10 Days Tour Itinerary


Day 1
We depart Broome and head up Highway One, crossing the mighty Fitzroy River, before morning tea
at Willare Bridge roadhouse. We then continue on to see the Prison Boab tree at the start of the
Gibb River Road. We head on to the dirt and the afternoons travel takes us to Tunnel Creek
and Windjana Gorge.

Day 2
We explore Windjana Gorge, with its’ fresh water crocodiles and enjoy the early Kimberley freshness.
We then continue along ‘The Gibb’, crossing the King Leopold Range and heading into ‘cattle-country’.
We take a walk into Galvins Gorge where we can have a refreshing swim before a delicious lunch.
We depart and finally set up camp at either Manning Gorge or Barnett River Gorge and relax with a few drinks as the sun sets.

Day 3
After exploring the gorge and a swim, we continue East along the Gibb River Road until we veer
North Up the Kalumburu Road. On our journey today we cross the Gibb River and stop in at
Drysdale Station for a snack or a drink. We then continue until King Edward River where we
set up camp and enjoy the sun setting over the river.

Day 4
We take the rugged winding road along the plateau and enjoy spectacular scenery as we pass through
forests of Livistonia Palms. You are now in one of the most remote and most beautiful place on earth.
We take time to explore this wilderness and take a walk in to the Mitchell Falls – You won’t be disappointed
– It is spectacular!! On the way in we pass the breath-taking drop of the Mertens Falls and view
Bradshaw paintings along the way.
You may want to take up the opportunity to enjoy an optional helicopter flight over this pristine country!
We end the day relaxing at the campsite with a cold drink and a hearty meal.

Day 5
Today we make our way back towards the Kalumburu Road and Drysdale Cattle Station.
Along the way we will see aboriginal Wandjina paintings and more of the Bradshaw rock art.
River crossings and rugged terrain continue to keep the pace slow on this leg of our journey.
Lunch and a swim in the King Edward River and we head off refreshed. Tonight it’s a few
drinks and a yarn at ‘Annie’s Bar’ and an overnight camp at the station or on the banks of the
Drysdale River.

Day 6
We continue the adventure as we make our way back down to the Gibb River Road and towards
the famous El Questro Station. We cross the Pentecost River and finally end up with a swim at
Emma Gorge under the waterfall.
A relaxing evening under the stars completes another day of this ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’.

Day 7
After breakfast, we head into the Hot Zebedee Springs for a relaxing ‘spa’! - Relax and enjoy
the scene that nature created.
We then explore the El Questro Gorge, swim in the crystal clear water of the rock-pools or head to the waterfall for an exhilarating, refreshing swim.
We finally leave the Gibb River Road and arrive in Kununurra before evening.

Day 8
Today you fly to The Bungle Bungles with East Kimberley Tours.
Experience Kununurra, 'the eastern gateway to the Kimberley' and surroundings by air
with a morning scenic flight over the renowned Ord Irrigation area, mighty Ord River and
the enormous man-made Lake Argyle before arriving at the Bungle Bungle where you
will transfer to an air-conditioned 4WD.
On your travels to Cathedral Gorge let our guides recount the Bungles heritage and
share nature's hidden secrets.
Be amazed on your walk into Cathedral Gorge, where you will be surrounded
by the Beehive Domes for which the park is so famous.
Arrival into the gorge displays a magnificent amphitheatre designed by nature at its best.
Relax in this shaded area and enjoy a memorable picnic lunch before returning on your
walk to rejoin the 4WD.
Travel to our Bungle Bungle Bush Camp for afternoon tea then rejoin the aircraft to
complete your afternoon scenic flight over the ancient Ragged Ranges
and the Argyle Diamond Mine.

Easy to moderate 3 km walk into Cathedral Gorge via the Beehive Domes.
This tour will see you picked up from your accommodation at approx. 8.30am,
arriving back in Kununurra approx. 5.00pm to rejoin Adventure Wild for the night.

Day 9
After an early breakfast you transfer from our 4 Wheel Drive Off-Road Vehicle to a
Luxury Greyhound Coach and complete the rest of your journey into the Northern Territory
arriving in Darwin at about 10.00PM local time.

*** The option to fly to Darwin is available at extra cost – approximately $200 extra
depending on availability.
Flight departs Kununurra at 1455 and arrives Darwin at 1720 (local time).
